SADCAN’s residential program provides the highest level of care available to all Canadians, with a special emphasis on past and present Canadian service personnel outside of Canada. We allow you to skip the gloom of winter and re-learn the sensations of empathy, care, and societal responsibility (which includes self-care, as each one of us makes up society).

The depth of our understanding of the unique challenges and issues encountered by our residents has been gained over many years. Our compassionate and highly qualified team integrates this depth of understanding with our evidence-based, goal-oriented approach to ensure the best possible outcome for each individual resident. Slowly, common-sense of the common-good becomes evident.

A Space of Rest

Assessment

All assessments and recommendations must come through an accredited therapist accepted by Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) or the equivalent insurers for the RCMP/primary caregivers. In turn this recommendation is vetted through other independent doctors. Everyone that is recommended must follow-up with their originating therapist during their stay. The objective is to identify specific and measurable goals for personal development and determine what course of action may be most appropriate and beneficial to the individual while with us.

Wholeness Approach

Residents focus on treatment goals identified at assessment, work to address their identified issues, and plan for a smooth transition back to Canada. They are accompanied by our experienced and professionally trained team which includes: equine therapists, yoga instructors, service animal instructors, fitness instructors, massage therapist, and dietitian. This reflects our integrated model of healing, where there is an interconnection between the spiritual, emotional and physical aspects of well-being.
